'Historic Clarksville' book presented to county; museum to receive thousands of copies

Wally Burchard presented the newly published Historic Clarksville to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 8, describing it as a 392-page book that documents about 240 years of local history. He said the project took two years and was carried out as a private-business collaboration between Birchett Media and the Custom House Museum, with research, writing, photography, design and printing completed locally.
Burchard said the museum received 3,250 complimentary copies and that a local family's donation will fund distribution of 150 copies to area recipients, including Montgomery County public schools (to be presented at a school-board meeting), local public and regional libraries, Austin Peay State University Library, Nashville State Community College Library, Fort Campbell schools and local assisted-living facilities and nursing homes. He noted books will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop and other local outlets for $49.95.
Burchard closed by thanking the commission for public service and wishing them well for the holidays.
