Pitt County manager highlights 2025 growth, broadband gains and two new community centers

Janice Gallagher, Pitt County Manager, used a short year-end message to highlight 2025 accomplishments and to cast the county’s recent progress as groundwork for 2026. "As we ring in 2026, let's reflect on Pitt County's growth, public service, and community success," she said.

On digital services, Gallagher said Pitt County "facilitated expansions in public broadband access, earned recognition as a national digital county, and empowered our digital footprint." She also noted a "complete website redesign" and the rollout of new online tools for permitting and inspections, human resources and planning meant to improve accessibility, transparency and efficiency for residents and staff.

Gallagher added that the county "honored excellence across departments, leaders, [and] businesses" and strengthened partnerships locally and statewide. She also noted both long-running and new programs "focused on community needs and resilience," and said that the county’s work in leadership, economic development and community well-being will shape the year ahead.
