On Dec. 1 the Anne Arundel County Council unanimously passed Bill 88-25, which makes supplementary and transfer appropriations in the FY2026 capital program for the Board of Education.
Administration staff described the measure as transferring appropriations into new and existing Board of Education capital projects, including an all-day pre‑K/ kindergarten project, funding for building-system renovations, sustainability initiatives and addressing a maintenance backlog. The public hearing drew no speakers, and the roll-call vote was 7–0 in favor.
The administration noted the bill was discussed at a recent work session and that staff present would answer questions from the council; no substantive amendments were offered during the session.
With passage, the capital program incorporates the described transfers and appropriations. Staff from the Office of Facilities and the budget office will carry out project-level implementation and reporting as part of normal capital program procedures.
