Commissioners approve ODOT grant, Jones High School contract and free fair election timeline; 4‑H donation recognized

District 3 staff presented an ODOT funding application totaling $101,918.75 in federal funds; the commission approved the grant application by voice vote.
County staff recognized local 4‑H representatives Cody Young and Serena Woodard and invited them forward to accept a check raised through staff luncheons. A county representative noted the funds had already been received and that a photo opportunity was requested to highlight support for 4‑H programs.
On contracts and events, staff explained an addendum (item 21) adds $25,000 to an agreement. Item 22 is a corrected contract for the Don Ramsey agricultural facility for Jones High School’s spring livestock show. Staff corrected a mistaken 2025 date on the contract; the corrected show dates are Feb. 20–25, 2026, and the contract amount is capped at $7,500. Commissioners voted to approve the corrected contract.
Staff also presented a resolution to proceed with the Oklahoma County Free Fair election. The free fair board approved the timeline Nov. 10; publication will run the following day, candidate filing is scheduled Jan. 5–9 at the clerk’s office (2nd Floor), and the election is set for Jan. 27. Commissioners approved the resolution.
All actions were approved by voice vote; no dissent or roll‑call tallies were recorded on the transcript.
