Key actions included acceptance and passage of a $425,000 Parkland Acquisition & Renovation for Communities grant for Ronan Park in Dorchester (docket 2034); passage of a $2,607,000 community mitigation grant from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to fund Harbor Walk completion, intersection improvements and public-safety mitigation (docket 1927); and a second-reading loan order to appropriate $11,100,000 for windows and door replacement at two Boston Public Schools facilities (docket 1926). The council also adopted a resolution supporting a Chinese American Veterans Memorial on the Rose Kennedy Greenway (docket 2048).
Councilors noted that many of these items are part of ongoing capital or program work; acceptance of grant funds will allow projects to proceed or move into design and construction phases. Several items were referred to committees for oversight as required by municipal process.
