The North Providence School Committee concluded its December meeting by approving a package of routine administrative and financial matters.
Among the actions the committee approved by voice vote were: the minutes of the Nov. 19 meeting; a retirement and separation agreement for a non‑certified employee; the consent agenda; an updated procurement policy (part of the district's five‑year policy review cycle); a junior prom contract for North Providence High School with Crystal Lake for April 30, 2027; payment of bills as presented; and approval of use‑of‑property requests.
Chair Dr. Pilato led the voice votes; motions were routinely moved and seconded and recorded in the transcript as approved by 'Aye' with no recorded opposition.
The procurement policy update was presented as an enhancement of existing procurement practices and credited to Ben's Gungio and his team. The prom contract was approved without discussion beyond the motion and second.
Next steps: standard administrative implementation, including processing the prom contract and updating procurement procedures as required.
