Oak Grove board hears construction update; elementary connection to be bid in January

District staff told the Oak Grove R-VI Board of Education that construction on auxiliary spaces is nearing completion and that work on an elementary connection has been pulled into a separate bid package.
Staff said locker rooms are nearly finished — lockers are on site, installers are working, and remaining work includes sinks, some toilets, doors and paint. Masonry and exterior block walls were reported as substantially in place. The board was told the elementary connection was split into a stand-alone project to secure dedicated funding; staff reported a pre-bid meeting with five companies and said bids are due in January with a probable April start and an August completion target for the roughly 2,000-square-foot connector.
No formal action was required at the meeting; staff said they will schedule a walkthrough for board members once interior work is complete.
