On Dec. 9 the Lynn Haven City Commission approved several administrative and capital‑project actions intended to keep procurement and recovery work moving.
Banking services: After evaluating five proposals, staff recommended keeping existing arrangements with Hancock Whitney (first ranked) and Ameris Bank (second). The commission approved continuing those banking relationships.
Cooperative purchase: The commission approved a piggyback agreement with Warner Landscape Source for bulk sod supply and delivery at established unit prices; installation was not part of the contract.
FEMA consulting: The commission approved change order 16 to the city’s contract with Tetra Tech for FEMA Public Assistance consulting related to Hurricane Michael, adding $24,935 for continued consulting and extending performance time. Staff noted FEMA may not reimburse 100% for certain Category Z expenses and that some projects remain open for the next two years.
Stormwater design: The commission authorized the interim city manager to execute a task order with Dewberry Engineers for 24th Street stormwater improvements design in the amount of $65,351.62. Staff said construction funding is not yet available and that design positions the project for future grant or CIP funding.
What’s next: Staff will continue grant pursuit and reimbursement submittals for FEMA projects, place the Dewberry design on the CIP schedule, and proceed with procurement steps for the approved bank contracts and cooperative purchases.
