At its Dec. 18 meeting, the North Andover School Committee completed several routine actions.
The committee accepted the minutes from the Nov. 6 meeting after a brief correction to a spelling of a committee member’s name; the motion (moved by Mister Brown) passed 4–0.
Later in the agenda, the committee approved an overnight field‑trip request for students to attend the Massachusetts Association of Student Councils (MASC) student‑council conference (moved by Mister Brown and seconded by Missus Cormier); the board recorded unanimous approval from members present.
On the competency‑determination item required of school districts while the state’s MCAS compensation/determination process is paused, the committee adopted the North Andover High School competency determination as presented (second read and vote; motion carried 4–0). Committee members noted the adoption must be completed before the statutory deadline at the end of the calendar year.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn, carried unanimously at 8:57 p.m.
