Commissioners say land searches continue for Hamill Shelter as county weighs options

"We thought we was in a good place to to make that happen. We may still have we still haven't got it completely worked out," the speaker said, noting additional land options remain under consideration. The commissioner said staff and local officials are continuing to look at alternatives and that work is ongoing to resolve property-line and acquisition issues.
Commissioners framed the shelter as a priority and discussed the need to move forward while acknowledging remaining obstacles. No formal motion or land acquisition decision was recorded; the update was presented during the report-of-officers portion of the agenda and will likely reappear on a future agenda when negotiations or property details are ready for action.
