Limestone County Commission approves $2.37 million in claims, several contracts, hires and a temporary cut to adoption fees

The Limestone County Commission on Dec. 15 approved a series of routine but wide-ranging measures, including payment of $2,365,277.69 in claims, agreements for road and boulevard projects, multiple personnel promotions and hires, and a temporary cut in animal adoption fees.

Chair (name not specified) opened the meeting and the commission quickly moved through the agenda. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the Dec. 1 minutes and the claims batch of $2,365,277.69. The commission also approved a resolution to participate in the CRS ACCA insurance fund for an additional three years as presented.

The commission authorized an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Huntsville for the Boeing Boulevard extension project and granted Commissioner Townsend authority to execute project documents on the county’s behalf. It also approved a contract with contractor Al Dodd for safety improvements on Lucas Ferry Road, Malone Road and Moyers Road, and awarded a listed bid on the agenda. All motions were carried by unanimous voice vote.
