The West Seneca board approved routine personnel and consent items and paused to publicly recognize several staff for tenure and service.
A motion to approve personnel item 3 passed after a short discussion about certification for an assistant supervisor of transportation. After the personnel votes, the board recognized tenure recipients: Katie Panchoovani (assistant principal, West Middle), Rachel Cook (special education teacher, West Elementary) and Marie Drake (school media specialist/librarian at Winchester Potter). Family members in attendance were acknowledged.
Board members also listed donations accepted by the district: $1,500 from Ebenezer United Church of Christ for the Reading Rover program; $1,634.15 in books from A to Z Books to Reading Rover; $1,000 to West Elementary and $860 to Allendale Elementary from Orchard Park Taekwondo for PE equipment; 26 Sheffield bike stands valued at $2,704 from Go Bike Buffalo for installation at all 10 district schools; and $500 from Life Church for use of the senior parking lot. The board thanked donors and noted these items support programs and facilities.
