Mayor Dana Rauch described attending the unveiling of a mural at Kent Meridian High School titled "Forever a Royal," a student-led project the mayor said had been in development for about a year. She said ASB president Kevin reached out about the project and that the mural honors students and staff who "left us too soon" and made lasting impressions on the school community.
Rauch said she was moved by the artwork, telling listeners, "It took my breath away," and that the mural achieved its intention of honoring alumni and encouraging reflection. She thanked student leaders, the ASB and school principal Radford, along with staff who supported the project.
The mayor framed the unveiling as part of a broader message of gratitude and community support, noting how public art can recognize loss and preserve a legacy for students and residents.
