Council approves release of public utility easement at 707 96th Ave NE to allow two single-family lots

At the Nov. 25 meeting the Bellevue City Council held a public hearing and adopted an ordinance authorizing the release of a portion of a public utility easement located at 707 96th Avenue Northeast.
Real property staff explained the owner is proposing to short-plat the existing parcel into two lots and build a single-family residence on each new parcel. Staff said the easement area to be released contains no utilities and the properties are served directly from adjacent 96th Avenue Northeast, so no replacement easement is required. There were no preregistered public commenters on the item and the council adopted the ordinance by voice vote.
Next steps: with the easement released, the property owner may proceed with the short-platting and permitting process per applicable city procedures.
