Woodlawn council approves three resolutions for tax incentives and two county grants

The Village of Woodlawn council voted to approve three resolutions during its November session, concurring with a tax-incentive review and authorizing two county grant agreements to support facade improvements and code-enforcement activities.
Municipal Manager Tim said the county awarded the village a $50,000 facade-improvement grant that will be passed through the village to local businesses to help upgrade storefronts. "We were the recipients of the $50,000 facade improvement grant from Hamilton County," Tim said during the manager's report. The council passed Resolution 41-2024 to authorize Tim to enter the joint grant agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of Hamilton County.
Councilors also approved Resolution 42-2024, a CDBG subrecipient agreement with Hamilton County for a code-enforcement program. Tim told the council the CDBG award totals $29,640 to be paid over a three-year period for code-enforcement work in the village.
Earlier, the council adopted Resolution 40-2024 to concur with the recommendations of the 2024 tax-incentive review council for the village's community reinvestment areas; the review recommended no changes to existing agreements. The law director described the resolution as a formal acceptance of the review council's finding that current CRA participants remain in compliance.
All three measures were moved, seconded and approved by roll call. The record shows council members present voting "Aye" in favor of the resolutions.
Next steps: Tim said the village will execute the grant agreements with county offices and begin subrecipient procedures for facade improvements; the council did not amend or delay the measures at the meeting.
