Library targets mid-January mailer, plans Earth Day Green Living Fair and expanded adult offerings

Earth Day proposal: Speaker 3 (Monica) recommended focusing on a free community 'Green Living Fair'—a single Saturday event (options discussed: April 18 or April 25) featuring local partners such as the Flower Farm in Cottage Grove, Warmbelly (hydroponic strawberries), Richter Farm, and local co-ops. Monica said a green-living, sustainability-focused fair would avoid duplicating naturalist programs available elsewhere and could offer indoor and outdoor activities; members favored April 18 to avoid holiday and travel conflicts.
Adult programming and partnerships: The board discussed expanding adult offerings through collaborations with the Cottage Grove Historical Society (Flynn Hall) and Drumlin Reserve for Badger Talks, lunch-and-learns, and recorded sessions for online archiving. Monica proposed alternating an evening adult program every other month with lunch-and-learns on opposite months and noted opportunities to record virtual presenters for later use.
Next steps: Staff will finalize the spring calendar for the mailer, confirm Earth Day date and location logistics (CGS gym or Parks & Rec space were suggested), and continue outreach to partners (historical society, Drumlin Reserve) for adult programming.
