The Zoning and Land Use Commission approved an applicant’s request to place three boat and RV storage buildings at 135 and 149 Val Hai Lagoon Crossing.
Applicant Dustin Richard told commissioners the property is zoned C‑3 and that the new plan reduces the concrete footprint compared with a prior, larger approval. He said the project will use complementary tone colors, will include landscaping such as six small magnolias or crepe myrtles, and will be well lit with security cameras. “This is an extremely low traffic impact business,” Richard said, adding that typical tenants would be able to pay about $350 per month for storage.
After a brief public‑hearing period with no sustained opposition, a motion to approve the staff recommendation was made by Commissioner Wayne Thibodeaux and seconded; the commission voted to approve the project.
The approval authorizes the applicant to proceed with the placement as presented; subsequent permits and site plan details will be addressed through the normal permitting process.
