Resident urges council to support North Terrebonne community center plan

Joseph said the nonprofit has developed a plan that would serve children, seniors and people with mental‑health needs and would emphasize life skills including STEM and robotics. He told the council he has been pursuing the project since about June 2023 and asked parish officials to "please consider us," saying the group is prepared to welcome residents from across North Terrebonne and operate programs without excluding anyone.
Joseph asked the council to review materials he offered and to consider incorporating program funding into parish lists of programs to be evaluated for potential support. He said the effort is volunteer-led and framed the center as a multigenerational opportunity to improve quality of life in the northern part of the parish.
The council did not take a formal vote on the request during the meeting; Pulaski and other staff were asked to continue reviewing proposals and to present funding options if available.
