The Yakima School District Board of Directors on Aug. 19 tabled action on ratings for Policy 550 (educational and racial equity) after members noted only two of five directors had responded to the policy evaluation.
A board member said the response rate was insufficient for adoption and the board discussed options for handling the item. The board agreed to two procedural steps: table the item to the next meeting and reissue the evaluation survey via SurveyMonkey so more board members can provide ratings.
A motion to table approval of the Policy 550 ratings was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote 4–0. A subsequent motion to reissue the survey also carried 4–0.
Board members did not receive public comment on the matter during the meeting. The district will circulate the survey again and return the item to a future meeting for consideration.
