Pinellas County commissioners unanimously approved a Resilient Florida grant agreement Dec. 16 that will bring $27 million in state funding, matched by a $27 million local commitment, to the Joe’s Creek Restoration and Greenway Trail Project.
County staff described the project as a multi‑year effort to improve water quality, restore habitat and provide a linked greenway trail that connects nearby neighborhoods. The county has worked on planning for the Joe’s Creek area for years; staff described this as significant funding that will address long‑standing water quality and connectivity problems.
The Board voted unanimously to accept the grant agreement and the required local match.
