Crown Point City Council adopts rezoning and stormwater ordinances, approves claims and SRF carryovers

The Crown Point City Council on Thursday adopted two ordinances on second reading and approved claims and State Revolving Fund (SRF) purchase-order carryovers to 2026.
Council members moved, seconded and approved the December 1 meeting minutes and then voted to approve claims and SRF distributions with one noted exception for certain purchase orders identified for follow-up. A council member said staff will send questions about a few 2024 purchase orders to the clerk’s office for clarification before finalizing those items.
On ordinance business, the council adopted Ordinance No. 2025-12-34, which rezones 2021 West 133rd Avenue from R1A (residential) to R1 (residential service). The chair stated, “There have been no changes since first reading,” and the council approved the measure on second reading by a 6-0 roll-call vote.
The council also adopted Ordinance No. 2025-12-35, an amendment to chapter 157 regarding stormwater management. As with the rezoning, the chair said there were no changes since the first reading. That ordinance also passed on second reading by a 6-0 roll-call vote.
