The Brentwood Select Board approved a series of routine fiscal motions at its Dec. 29 meeting, including payroll, consent-agenda items and revisions to the recreation budget.
The board approved payroll (total payroll reported $34,811 with payroll taxes $9,420) and the consent agenda (minutes dated 12/09/2025, recreation checks, building permits). The board then voted to reopen the Recreation Department budget and approved a revised total of $141,250 to bring the rec director position and coordinator pay into the operating budget. The board also authorized ‘Paul’ to sign the new rec director contract pending background checks and final disclosure of the hire date (staff said a January 5 start was possible if checks complete).
Separately, members approved several small, line-item budgets as presented: animal control ($10 total, $1 per line across 10 lines); street lighting ($1); and level-funded mosquito control at $29,200 (staff explained year-to-date actuals of about $20,830 and a small contingency for adult spraying). Each motion was moved, seconded and approved during the meeting.
The board noted a large accounts-payable run of $722,490 on the agenda, which included a single payment of $690,649 to the county and left a committed fund balance of $583,178 as of the treasurer’s report.
