County approves Tyler Technologies records-management purchase for land and vitals

The Washington County Commissioners Court on Nov. 25 authorized the purchase of records-management software from Tyler Technologies for land and vital records through the Sourcewell cooperative contract (project 060624-TTI).
Mister Prinsler described the project as "a major upgrade" to replace software purchased in 2008, saying the system will make it easier for the public to access records and purchase certified copies online. He emphasized the purchase will be funded from the County Clerk's Records Management Fund and that no property tax funds will be used.
Commissioners acknowledged the item had been discussed during the budget process and thanked county staff for bringing the procurement forward. A motion to approve the purchase and authorize the county judge to sign the contract was seconded and carried without further change.
County staff said the software is part of a broader initiative to modernize county systems and to reduce manual work in public-records requests, and that implementation will be coordinated with other ongoing technology upgrades.
