Hanover Park, Ill. — Village officials on Dec. 18 formally recognized Village Manager Juliana A. Mallor on the occasion of her retirement after a 36‑year career in municipal government and 13 years serving as Hanover Park’s village manager.
Mayor Rodney S. Craig read a proclamation citing Mallor’s 13 years as village manager and more than three decades of public service, crediting her with “professionalism, vision, and integrity” and naming projects completed under her leadership, including Fire Station 16, improvements to the village center and infrastructure upgrades. “Congratulations, Juliana,” the mayor said during the ceremony.
Paula Schumacher, village administrator for Bartlett and president of the Illinois City and County Management Association, presented a certificate on behalf of ILCMA and noted a donation had been made to the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) fund in Mallor’s name. Schumacher said Mallor has been “a role model for good government, ethics and action” and praised her mentorship of women in city management.
Trustees and staff offered remarks of thanks and best wishes. The board observed that Mallor’s tenure saw the village maintain fiscal health, pursue economic development readiness and complete notable capital projects. The mayor and trustees highlighted Mallor’s regional collaboration on issues such as grant coordination and legislative outreach.
The presentation was part of the regular board meeting; Mallor will be succeeded in her role as the village proceeds with transition planning and the board thanked her for decades of public service.
The board moved on to other business after the presentation.
