Council approved staff’s recommendation to sell an airport fuel tank to the City of Omak for $75,000.
Airport staff said Omak approached the city with the offer after inspecting the fuel system; staff had earlier received lower private offers (one cited at $4,000). A council member asked whether proceeds would be returned to the general fund; staff confirmed sale proceeds would be deposited to the general fund. The airport representative said delivery logistics would be the purchaser’s responsibility (COD) and that other government entities and private parties had expressed varying interest over time.
Deputy mayor Madewell and other council members asked about the city’s original cost; staff stated the city paid approximately $150,000. Council moved and approved the sale as presented; the sale will be subject to the purchaser’s council approval and logistics to be coordinated by staff.
