Gahanna City Council approved the fiscal year 2026 appropriations ordinance and several related finance and personnel measures at its Dec. 15 meeting.
Ordinance 0049-2025, adopting appropriations for the city’s 2026 current expenses and other expenditures, was amended to include a substitute Exhibit A and then approved on roll-call vote. Council members thanked budget staff and committee leadership for what they described as a constructive budget process and noted investments in city priorities.
Council also voted to waive second reading and adopt Ordinance 0057-2025, which authorizes supplemental appropriations for FY2025 across general, TIF, parks/recreation and other funds. For personnel, council voted to waive second reading and adopted Ordinance 0058-2025 (salaries for city personnel for 2026) and Ordinance 0059-2025 (benefits for personnel effective Jan. 1, 2026), each carried with emergency declarations.
Council members described the actions as part of routine year-end housekeeping to set pay scales and benefits for the coming year and to finalize continuing operations. The ordinances were adopted on recorded roll-call votes.
