Board approves consent items, technology purchases and roof bid; enters executive session

Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from Nov. 19, personnel actions (two retirements: Sarah Steenbach effective 06/01/2026 and Doug Mueller effective 12/01/2025), donations and grants totaling $6,007.33 plus gift cards valued at $2,625. That motion passed 6-0.
Technology and facilities: The board approved final purchase of MacBooks for Manhattan High School English Language Arts in the amount of $52,866 and a second purchase for teacher and staff replacements in the amount of $206,569. The board also approved partial roof replacement work at Lincoln Education Center with contract amounts referenced at $200,275 and $346,481. Each procurement motion passed 6-0.
Executive session: Jamie moved and Carla seconded a motion to enter executive session for 30 minutes to discuss individual employee performance under the Kansas Open Meetings Act; the motion passed 6-0 and the board said no action would be taken upon return.
These items passed by unanimous votes during the meeting; the board scheduled further reports and a second reading of the start-times item for the Dec. 17 meeting.
