A representative of the Auburn Washburn Foundation updated the board on fundraising at the Dec. 4 meeting, saying the second annual foundation golf tournament at Cypress Ridge raised about $18,000 — approximately $1,000 more than the inaugural event.
The foundation representative credited volunteers, dozens of sponsors and foundation board members for the increase and said proceeds will be used to support classroom grants distributed to students. The event was intentionally scheduled on a no‑school day so students and staff could participate, the representative said.
Board members publicly thanked foundation volunteers and staff for the work supporting district classrooms.
