The Village of Terrace Park Council voted unanimously on May 13 to appoint Doug Manning as a full-time police officer.
Councilmember Ingebretson introduced Resolution 5-2-2025, saying, “I am happy today to introduce resolution number 5-2-2025, appointing Doug Manning as full time police officer for the village of Terrace Park Police Department and declaring an emergency.” The motion to adopt the resolution as an emergency was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote. Several council members responded “Aye.”
Manning was sworn in at the meeting. During the oath he repeated the pledge to “support the constitution and the laws of the state of Ohio” and to “discharge the duties of this office.” Council members welcomed Manning and thanked him for joining the department.
The resolution and the oath were conducted as part of the council’s regular meeting; no additional fiscal impacts were discussed during the appointment.
The council did not record any opposed votes during the recorded voice approvals. The appointment takes effect immediately under the emergency adoption. The meeting also included routine business and other resolutions.
