TCS Northwest project staff on Dec. 30 updated the Granite County Commission on the closeout of a nearly completed elevator project. Terry Moreland, project manager, and Michael Cleveland, general manager for TCS Northwest, introduced themselves and said they had been finalizing punch-list items and trim work but were awaiting a ladder shipment and some final wiring work by Otis to secure a final inspection and certification.
County staff said the original contract was about $1.4 million and that ARPA funds were used to support the project; change orders have increased the total somewhat but a final contract sum was not specified in the meeting. TCS staff said Otis provided a wiring harness that made the elevator operable for limited use, but the permanent wiring and installation of an elevator pit ladder remain outstanding. That ladder shipment is needed before the county can schedule the final inspection.
TCS said most trim and punch-list items could be completed within days once Otis confirms a schedule. Commissioners asked staff to continue pursuing contact with the project manager and Otis to accelerate final inspection and certification so final payments can be processed.
What happens next
TCS will notify the county when Otis schedules the ladder installation and final wiring; the county said it will coordinate the final inspection and confirm any remaining punch-list items before releasing final payments.
