Staff said they sent a circulating pump motor to Cook Electric in Indianapolis to be rebuilt and that the main pool motor has been replaced with a new unit. Staff described using the impeller and parts from the old motor to rebuild a play-feature motor for the slides, noting the slide pumps must move a large volume of water. "Actually, it's a brand new motor," staff said of the main pool motor replacement, and added that components from the older motor aided the current rebuild.
On pricing, staff said the department planned to retain last year’s swim-team rates and present the pricing unchanged for board acceptance. The decision to keep rates was handled administratively with the board indicating assent at the meeting.
Staff also noted that maintenance will continue on a rotating schedule so one pump is taken out for work each year, and that in-season readiness is a priority ahead of the summer months.
