County committee reports roughly $200,000 NYS Office for the Aging supplement to help seniors

Silva said the money is used for environmental modifications, medical care, transportation and meals for older residents and noted a short turnaround: the state fiscal year ends March 30 and the county must use the funds by March unless a short extension is granted. "So we're asking for your approval to accept these funds," the presentation said.
Committee members confirmed the funding is budget neutral and that expenditures are lined up; a motion to report the resolution to the legislature was approved by voice vote.
