Reno staff previews December council agendas: contracts, Louella Garvey overlay, truck rules, childcare hearing and TIF for 200-unit project

Assistant City Manager Ashley Turney told listeners that council will meet Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 and consider multiple items intended to advance capital and land-use projects.
Turney said the Dec. 3 agenda may include contract awards for the Hilltop Bark Park ballfield lights project and the Riverside Drive berm restoration project, both described as measures to improve public access to parks and riverfront areas. She also said council would consider a potential ordinance adoption related to a historic landmark overlay zoning district for the Louella Garvey House and that a truck regulations ordinance would be prepared for adoption.
Turney added council will hold a public hearing regarding a potential ordinance related to child care centers. The redevelopment agency will review another tax increment financing (TIF) application tied to a proposed 200-unit market-rate housing project; Turney said the TIF request seeks reimbursement for pedestrian access and river-area improvements once taxes are paid and portions are requested back through a reimbursement agreement.
