Board recognizes students across Wooster schools; students report spring events

Principals and teachers presented December students of the month from multiple schools and a Wooster High senior summarized upcoming student activities and community service events.
The board took time to recognize student leaders from across the district. Principals from Wooster High, Cornerstone, Keene, Melrose, Parkview and Edgewood described nominees' leadership, kindness and academic effort as December students of the month.
Highlights included Bean Carroll and Willie Fuqua at Wooster High, a Cornerstone kindergarten nomination for Svetlana Brown (watching remotely), Keene student Kian Sherman, Melrose nominees Eric Mundo Sancho Lopez and Luna Wagner, Parkview students Elise Hartzler and Sloan Sorensen, and Edgewood students Connor Hyatt and Thais Vallez.
Later, Wooster High senior Lucy Franks delivered a student report with updates on winter sports, NHS volunteer activities, a planned March 12 blood drive, theater and science club activities and Best Buddies programming.
