Sequim planning staff report 11 plan‑map amendment applications; West Bay (Seabrook) master plan under technical review

Sequim — At the start of the July 15 meeting, planning staff provided a brief status update on the overall comprehensive plan process and on active proposals.
Carla told commissioners the department has received "11 applications for our comprehensive plan amendment sites specific to the maps," and staff will begin contacting property owners in the coming two weeks. She said Leland Consulting and The Economic Firm will be in Sequim next Thursday and Friday to meet city staff, business owners and property owners; commissioners and council members are invited to an informal Thursday evening session with consultants and staff.
On a large development matter, staff relayed a message from Interim DCD Director Christina about the West Bay Master Plan application (also referred to as Seabrook): it was submitted in early June and found "counter complete" on June 23; it is now under technical review and staff expect to determine technical completeness on July 21. Staff said a dedicated West Bay page with project materials will be published on the DCD webpage so citizens can view documents and the application's progress.
There was no public comment at this meeting. Commissioners approved the June 17 minutes at the start of the session and later moved to adjourn; no formal votes related to plan amendments or West Bay were taken.
