During consideration of Resolution 051-25, staff described the payment arrangement and the total annual contribution of $47,000; council approved the resolution on third reading. Councilmembers discussed not losing track of additional ideas raised during budget hearings and referred further consideration of additional funding to the municipal properties committee (and possibly finance/budget committee) in early 2026.
Separately, after two executive sessions (one on sale/purchase of property and one on appointment/employment matters), council returned to open session and passed a motion directing the law director to draft legislation for the transition of property to the CIC; the motion passed by roll call. Minutes record that no final action was taken during the executive sessions themselves.
Next steps: the law director will prepare draft legislation for council consideration and committees will be asked to review potential additional CIC funding options.
