A building department representative told trustees the department issued 92 building permits and completed 69 inspections in November, and provided updates on ongoing projects including excavation work, a roof-deck pour, and demolition activity; electrician license renewals began Dec. 1.
A building department representative told the Village of Mineola Board of Trustees that construction activity increased in November, with 92 building permits issued and 69 inspections completed.
"During the month of November, the building department issued a total of 92 building permits and conducted 69 inspections," the department representative said, noting the figures were an increase from the previous year.
The representative highlighted several active projects: supportive excavation work at 123rd Street had begun with very few complaints; 111 2nd Street was expected to complete its final roof-deck pour in the middle of the month if work remained on schedule; and demolition at 114 Old Country Road was progressing with required safety and debris-removal measures in place. The official also reminded licensees that electrician renewals began Dec. 1 and that renewal instructions will be sent to active licensed electricians on the department list.
Trustees invited questions; none were raised. The building department said it would continue to oversee work to ensure public safety and minimal impact to neighboring properties.
The board made no policy changes in response to the report but moved forward with the evening's consent items and regular business.
