Trustee Kanes moved to approve the items set for block vote and Vice President Floyd Ewing seconded; the board recorded unanimous ayes.
Principals introduced the two tenure candidates before the vote. A Powell's Lane principal recommended John Satorius, identified in the transcript as the library media specialist at Powell's Lane School, praising his collaboration on activities including the FIRST LEGO robotics team and the book fair and asking the board to grant tenure. High school staff and David Zimbler introduced Miss Sullivan, praising her progression from substitute to full-time teacher, her work supporting business education and her ongoing support for students.
The board offered congratulations to both candidates prior to the formal vote. Later in the meeting the board voted to enter executive session to discuss a personnel matter and then reconvened and adjourned. The board exchanged holiday greetings and took an annual holiday photo before leaving.
