Summary
The Mountain View Whisman School District Board unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing the service of former trustee Rose Felicetti, with family and former colleagues speaking; the board will create the Rose Felicetti Community Partner Award to honor local organizations that collaborate with the district.
The board unanimously approved Resolution No. 01-121825 honoring Rose Felicetti’s decades of service to Mountain View area schools and the broader region.
Superintendent Behr introduced family members and community guests. Trustees and former colleagues gave tributes describing Felicetti’s leadership in guiding a historic district merger, helping pass local bonds and parcel taxes, and leading regional nonprofit and county school‑board efforts. Several public speakers — including former trustee Laura Blakely, longtime colleague Claudia Hevel and others — recounted campaigns and projects Felicetti led and urged the board to preserve her legacy.
The resolution includes language recognizing Felicetti’s service from 1994 to 2004, work to pass local bonds and a parcel tax, her 18 years as executive director of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association, and subsequent nonprofit leadership. Trustees approved a choral reading of the resolution and voted unanimously to establish an annual Rose Felicetti Community Partner Award to be bestowed on a community organization that collaborates with MVWSD to support students and families.
The board recessed to present the resolution to family members and will enter the resolution into the official minutes.
