North Bend swears in council members, confirms parks reappointments and names new mayor pro tem

The North Bend City Council opened its Dec. 2 meeting with oath ceremonies, several confirmations and a leadership selection.
Mark Jocelyn and Errol Tremolata each took the oath of office to serve on the city council. After presenting the oath the mayor posed for photos and thanked the newly sworn members. "Your service has been impeccable," the mayor said in remarks recognizing long service by Councilmember Alan Gotthoff, who was attending his final council meeting after nearly 19 years of service.
On appointments, the council approved AB 25-131 to reappoint Matt Miller (position 1), Kyle Braun (position 2), Eric Thompson (position 3) and Tim Talovich (position 4) to the Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission with terms expiring Dec. 31, 2029. Councilmembers highlighted the value of volunteer commissioners.
Council then confirmed AB 25-132, selecting Errol Tremolata as mayor pro tem for 2026 in accordance with RCW and City Resolution 14-37 as cited in the staff remarks. The motion to confirm the mayor pro tem passed unanimously.
Council offered farewell remarks to departing member Alan Gotthoff, praising his long service and contributions to Eastside Fire and Rescue and local governance. The mayor and council members encouraged residents to participate in upcoming holiday community events and noted City Hall closures during the holidays.
The council moved to other agenda business after the confirmations and sworn-in members completed photos.
