District 25 honors student performers, music delegates; communications staff to relaunch district website during winter break

Board members used the opening portion of the Dec. 16 meeting to recognize student accomplishments in speech and music. Coach Wes Skimm highlighted team achievements at South Middle School including 22 Division I placements and judges' choice winners. Kenneth Cook recognized two students (Maya Paterico and Max Ling) who attended the South ILMEA District 7 Honor Festival.
Gina, representing the ABC 25 Foundation, announced 40 grants totaling $38,392.77 awarded to teachers and programs and promoted a March 15 fundraiser at Topgolf to support future grants.
Later in the meeting Adam from communications presented a planned website refresh. The new district template will consolidate school landing pages, improve mobile navigation and add configurable homepage buttons for timely items like registration. Adam said the district will switch templates on Monday, Dec. 22 and will monitor and respond to feedback over winter break using a feedback form that routes to him for quick fixes.
Board members praised the student recognitions and the communications plan, and asked questions about whether school teams could customize content on their landing pages. Adam said schools will retain flexibility within the district template and that communications staff will support schools with updates.
