Falmouth to open 10th preschool classroom; new transition and vocational opportunities described

For secondary transition planning, staff described partnerships that expand post‑secondary and vocational options for students on IEPs: participation at 4Cs in the Massachusetts Inclusive Higher Education Program, a paralegal assistant training placement at the courthouse for students with autism, community work experiences (service center, library, Meals on Wheels), and a mobile dental program providing in‑school cleanings and limited treatments. The district is also implementing the I Decide substance‑use prevention curriculum in partnership with Duffy Health Center.
Student services said these programs aim to increase independence and vocational skills for students who may not pursue a traditional diploma and that early results and feedback have been positive.
