Jackson County commissioners approved a six-month consulting contract with CPD Design Solutions to assist with the county's hazard mitigation plan update, staff told the commission Nov. 24.
Director Josh Whitcomb told commissioners the county is "in the middle of our hazard mitigation update" and needs outside assistance to meet a December 31 deadline. The agreement as presented had a fixed fee of $17,000, described in the packet as a six-month engagement. County staff said the funds were placed in the current budget and the county attorney had reviewed the contract. The commission moved, seconded and approved the contract in open session.
Next steps: staff will execute the contract and proceed with the update work to meet the stated deadline and will report progress to the commission as required.
