Council to consider amended LEED incubator lease; voluntary annexation for community solar coming

Council members discussed an amended lease with LEED (the incubator program) that would allow LEED to occupy unrented office spaces in a city building until incubator tenants are found; the amendment also adds internet as a covered utility. The LEED board reviewed and approved the changes; council agreed to place the amended lease on the regular agenda for formal approval so the organization can begin occupying space.
Council also heard an update on a voluntary annexation request connected to a community solar project on the south end of Kickapoo. Staff said the parcel has been surveyed, plotted and the annexation documentation is ready; notices will go out and the annexation will appear on the next committee and voting agendas.
Council members asked questions about internet access and whether the incubator tenants would have individualized hookups or a building‑wide network; staff said the incubator area has its own SSID and hardwired ports are available and that more detailed agreements for incubator occupants will be drafted and returned to council.
