Bridgeport Police announce holiday toy drive, distracted‑driving enforcement and bus‑patrol program

In addition to the toy drive, police described enforcement of a local distracted‑driving measure referenced as the 'Paul Miller' law (Section 33 16.1). The department said warnings will precede citations through 06/05/2026, and that citations thereafter carry a $50 fine.
The chief announced several recent arrests and an outstanding warrant: Scott Sprague of Lima, Ohio (arrested on burglary allegations), Sabri Patty Perry of Philadelphia (arrested in connection with a burglary), and an outstanding warrant for Britney Hisner related to felony theft of lottery tickets. The department said it is coordinating to return at least one out-of-state arrestee to Pennsylvania to face charges.
Police also outlined a bus‑patrol video program, coordinating with Upper Marion and the Upper Merion School District (as recorded) to capture footage when drivers illegally pass stopped school buses; the program is described as a civil enforcement/coordination process that would transfer evidence to appropriate agencies for follow-up.
The department encouraged donations and volunteer support for the holiday program and asked residents to contact the department with questions.
