Commissioners raise local concerns: mansion vandalism, Arizona State Trust land sales and a biotechnology presentation request

Commissioner Smith reported that the Gold King Line mansion on Lake Ranch Road was extensively tagged around Thanksgiving and urged anyone with information to contact the Bureau of Land Management or the sheriff's department to help stop vandalism. "It's some gang thing," Smith said, and asked the public to report leads to law enforcement and BLM.
Commissioner Ellingsen and others recommended regularly inviting local BLM field-office representatives (Kingman, Lake Havasu and the Colorado River representative) and state parks officials to give brief updates, either in person or by phone, so the commission can hear about matters affecting public lands.
Commissioner Diaz, joining remotely, said he meets regularly with the local BLM and noted that Arizona State Trust is selling sizable parcels of State Trust land across areas that include the county and neighboring districts (Kingman, Lake Havasu, Bullhead). He suggested inviting Arizona State Trust to discuss planned auctions and their impact on local public lands.
Commissioner Barlow also mentioned a local individual who has tried to present to the Board of Supervisors on biotechnology; Barlow asked whether the commission would be interested in hearing that presentation and was told commissioners can add items and should consider placing it on the March agenda if it fits the bylaws.
No formal action was taken on these items; commissioners agreed to pursue invitations and potential agenda placement for future meetings.
