The Round Lake Beach Village Council voted on Dec. 15 to enter executive session to discuss probable or pending litigation, land acquisition and sale, executive-session minutes, personnel matters and collective bargaining.
Trustee Ibera moved to enter executive session and Trustee Hilsheim seconded; the clerk called a roll and the listed trustees voted to enter closed session. The board returned to open session at approximately 8:01 p.m.
After reconvening, the council approved a motion "not to release executive session minutes from 11/17/2025." Trustee Davis moved the motion; it carried by voice vote. No additional public details about the subject matter of the executive session were given in open session.
Why it matters: executive sessions permit councils to discuss sensitive matters out of the public record; the motion to withhold minutes from Nov. 17 indicates the board determined the contents remain confidential under the relevant open-meeting provisions. The council did not provide substantive public descriptions of the items discussed in closed session.
What to watch next: the board may at a future meeting vote to release some or all executive-session minutes or provide a public summary if circumstances change. Requests for records should be directed to the village clerk under applicable Illinois open-records rules.
