The Ravenna School District treasurer told the board Dec. 16 that the district’s finances through November 2025 were stronger than forecasted but remain subject to upcoming changes.
"We are $552,810 exceeding our revenue as predicted in the forecast," the treasurer reported, and said expenditures were approximately $103,158 below the forecast. She described the ending cash balance as "a little over $1,600,000" more favorable than expected but said the numbers will be updated with the district’s February forecast and once projected tax receipts and any state actions are clear.
The treasurer also reminded the board that four pieces of legislation the district had tracked were passed and were awaiting the governor’s signature; she summarized the governor’s options as signing, vetoing, or doing nothing, and noted that if the governor does nothing the measures would take effect Dec. 20.
Context: The treasurer said about 40% of district funding comes from the state (paid twice monthly) and about 60% comes from property taxes (distributed in four payments in February and in September). Those timing differences are the primary reason the board approved authorizations to request tax collections earlier and to approve potential short‑term advances to cover low‑cash months.
Next steps: The treasurer will update the board with the February forecast, reflecting incoming tax receipts and the status of state legislation. The board approved the treasurer’s recommended routine requests on the same agenda.
Quote: "This is our financial data through November 2025," the treasurer said, summarizing the figures and noting they will change with the February forecast.
