The Palos Park Board of Commissioners approved several formal motions and votes on Dec. 8.
Public Works reported the 2025 Motor Fuel Tax paving project (awarded to Lindell Brothers, contract $819,389.50) is substantially complete. Council approved payment estimate #2 to Lindell Brothers in the amount of $594,683.37 by unanimous roll call.
Council also approved adding Forest Glen (including the parking area) to the MFT project for $80,000, bringing the projected contract total to $899,389.50; staff said the addition remains under the original project budget.
Commissioner Wade presented a resolution (2025-R-12) to renew the professional services agreement with HR Green for building plan review and inspection services for 2026; council approved the resolution by roll call.
Commissioner Reid moved to adopt the 2025 tax levy ordinance (Ordinance 2025-21) requesting a total levy of $2,492,814 (village share $1,880,552; library $612,262), a 4.95% increase from last year. Reid said the increase stays within the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTL) constraints and is estimated to raise taxes by roughly $25 per $100,000 in market value; council adopted the ordinance by unanimous roll call.
In the manager’s report, the council approved purchase of 20 computers from Proven IT in the amount of $37,914.80 (budgeted for 2026).
Several consent-agenda warrant lists were ratified earlier in the meeting (amounts stated in the consent description). The meeting concluded with a unanimous roll call to adjourn.
