Lianne Rodriguez, program manager for Santa Fe County’s DWI prevention program, requested approval of Amendment No. 10 to the county’s contract with Santa Fe Public Schools to continue evidence‑based youth substance‑use prevention programming. The amendment increases compensation by $45,000 — $15,000 for the remainder of fiscal year 2026 and $30,000 contingent on grant funding for FY27 — and extends the agreement through Dec. 8, 2026.
Rodriguez said the programming reaches roughly 2,300–2,500 students annually through evidence‑based curricula (Second Step and related wellness ambassador programs) and that Aspen Solutions serves as the county’s program evaluator, collecting quarterly evaluation data. Commissioner Lisa Kokari Stone and others pressed for culturally aligned programming, RFP windows that invite community‑based providers, and stronger data on outcomes; Rodriguez said the county is working to expand culturally appropriate programming and will reopen funding opportunities under the NOFA in 2026.
Commissioner Justin Green moved approval; the board approved the amendment and delegated authority to the county manager to sign the purchase order.
